Anti-fog coating is a kind of coating that has the function of preventing fog condensation.
Super-hydrophilic coatings with a water contact angle of less than 15° begin to have anti-fogging effects.
When the water contact angle is 4°, the coating shows good anti-fog performance.
When the water contact angle is higher than 25°, the anti-fog function disappears completely.
In the 1970s (1967), Fujishima Akira, Hashimoto and others at the University of Tokyo discovered that titanium dioxide (TiO2) has hydrophilic and self-cleaning properties [1]. However, when titanium dioxide is not irradiated with ultraviolet light, the water contact angle is 72±1°. After ultraviolet light is irradiated, the structure of titanium dioxide changes, and the water contact angle becomes 0±1°. Therefore, it is limited by ultraviolet light when used [2].
There is another route for anti-fog coatings-sol-gel method (sol-gel) [3] system of nano-silica (SiO2). The hydrophilic group is combined with the nano-silica framework, and both the nano-silica framework and the organic-inorganic substrate can form a strong chemical bond. The sol-gel anti-fog coating is resistant to scrubbing, foaming, and solvents. It is more durable than surfactant anti-fog coatings, much thinner than polymer anti-fog coatings, with high precision, high coating rate and more economical.
When hot water vapor meets cold, it will form a layer of water mist on the surface of the object, which makes the original clear vision blurred. With hydrophilic principle, Huzheng anti-fogging hydrophilic coating makes the water drops fully laid to get uniform water film, which prevents the formation of the mist drops, does not affect the clearance of the base material, and maintains a good visual sense. Huzheng coating introduces nanometer titanium oxide particles on the basis of multicomponent polymerization, and long-term anti-fogging and self-cleaning function is obtained. At the same time, the hardness and wear resistance of the surface are also significantly improved. PWR-PET is the hydrophilic anti-fogging coating for PET substrate, which is suitable for heat-curing process and convenient for large-scale industrial coating.

Application:
It is used for PET surface to produce anti-fogging hydrophilic film or sheet.
Usage:
According to different shape, size and surface state of the base material, appropriate application methods, such as shower coating, wiping coating or spray coating is selected. It is suggested to try coating in a small area before application. Take shower coating for example to describe application steps briefly as follows:
1st step: Coating. Select appropriate coating technology for coating;
2nd step: After coating, stand at room temperature for 3 minutes to make full leveling;
3rd step: curing. Enter the oven, heat it at 80-120℃ for 5-30 minutes, and the coating cured.
Notes:
1.Keep sealed and store in a cool place, make the label clear to avoid misusing.
2. Keep far from the fire, at the place where children can’t reach;
3. Ventilate well and prohibit the fire strictly;
4. Wear PPE, such as protective clothing, protective gloves and goggles;
5. Prohibit contacting with the mouth, eyes and skin, in case of any contact, flush with large amount of water immediately, call a doctor if necessary.
