In cooperation with NAGASE Specialty Materials, Interfacial launches a highly filled proprietary polymer masterbatch

PR Newswire-PR Newswire/Itasca, Illinois and Prescott, Wisconsin, February 5, 2021-Interfacial Consultants (“Interfacial”), an advanced materials innovator based in Wisconsin, recently released Developed two disruptive, highly filled masterbatch technologies, issued by its sister company NAGASE Specialty Materials (“NSM”).
The masterbatch can easily handle difficult-to-handle materials such as natural fibers and carbon nanotubes.
These novel proprietary composite materials (one based on biofibers and the other based on carbon nanotubes) have been carefully designed to achieve greater filler dispersion to produce high-performance compounds. As a result, companies in all walks of life from automobile manufacturing to daily necessities will be able to quickly formulate sustainable and electrostatic discharge (ESD) safe polymers while achieving lightweight, strength, rigidity, productivity and processing goals.
Both Interfacial and NSM are committed to connecting their customers with unique material solutions and are both part of the NAGASE Group in Japan. This partnership is Interfacial’s first use of NSM’s distribution capabilities to push its differentiated products to a wider market.
Interface COO Jeff Cernohous (Jeff Cernohous) said: “Interface is ecstatic to use NAGASE specialty materials to introduce disruptive, highly filled masterbatch technology. “It provides ease for blenders. The ability to handle difficult-to-handle materials such as natural fibers and carbon nanotubes. This allows them to manufacture compounds with improved production yield, dispersibility and final properties. We hope this is the first of many new products to be released with our NSM partners. ”
NSM President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Miller also expects to bring huge benefits to the market. Miller said: “I am very excited about our expansion in the NSM value chain and its positive impact on the productivity and sustainability requirements that customers expect.” “NAGASE Specialty Materials is committed to acting as an excellent supplier and marketing NAGASE Manufactured solutions to meet customer needs. Our sister company Interfacial’s agent brings highly filled masterbatches to the market, which makes full use of our existing supplier base, which allows us to do so.”
Interfacial’s new high-fill color masterbatch is now on the market. The quantity ranges from samples to complete vehicles and can be mass-produced.
