Nanosafe to launch copper-based technology that kills bacteria, viruses and fungi

New Delhi [India], March 2 (ANI/NewsVoir): With the COVID-19 pandemic largely inevitable and India reporting up to 11,000 new cases per day, demand for germ-killing items and materials is rising. Delhi-based startup Nanosafe Solutions has developed a copper-based technology that can kill all types of microorganisms, including SARS-CoV-2. The technology, called AqCure (Cu is short for elemental copper), is based on nanotechnology and reactive copper. Depending on the type of material, Nanosafe Solutions supplies reactive copper products to various polymer and textile manufacturers, as well as to cosmetics, paint and packaging companies. Actipart Cu and Actisol Cu are their flagship powder and liquid products respectively for use in paint and cosmetic formulations. In addition, Nanosafe Solutions offers a line of AqCure masterbatches for various plastics and Q-Pad Tex for converting tissues into antimicrobials. In general, their copper-based complex products can be used in a variety of everyday materials.
Dr. Anasuya Roy, CEO of Nanosafe Solutions, said: “To date, 80% of antimicrobials in India are imported from developed countries. As active supporters of domestic technologies, we want to change this. antibacterial products from silver-based antimicrobial compounds imported from these countries because silver is a very toxic element. On the other hand, copper is an essential micronutrient and has no toxicity issues.” advanced technologies in institutes and research laboratories. But there is no systematic way to bring these technologies to the commercial market so that industry can adopt them. Nanosafe Solutions aims to bridge the gap and achieve a vision in line with Atma Nirbhar Bharat. NSafe Mask, a 50x reusable antiviral mask, and Rubsafe Sanitizer, an alcohol-free 24-hour protective sanitizer, were launched by Nanosafe during the lockdown. With such innovative technology products in its portfolio, Nanosafe Solutions also looks forward to raising the next round of investment so that AqCure technology can reach millions of people faster.
